Obviously that would chew up a lot of data. Does DIRECTV pre-send DOD to the DVR's in the hope you buy the program? I see the ad banners in the channel guide. Most Unlimited plans have the option to buy more high-speed data. Select the down arrow in the lower right corner to display your data usage information. We don't download Netflix, etc., and I did not think we were being pre-sent DOD programs via internet.ġ. With VZW's share everything plan, and adding the Router, its lower cost that what we pay for DSL if we stay below 10GB/mo, assuming some cost allocation to the cell phones on the plan. I will try to monitor the usage and report back what is logged (with no DOD or other PPV usage). I have searched over the past months on forums and the web for info as to how much internet data the DVRs use (not including DOD) but it seems to be a well kept secret. As you (peds48) mentioned, disconnecting the ethernet cable will stop the data consumption but some features would go away, such as the DIRECTV Mobile App.
